Purchase of Geometrics G-882 gradient magnetometer

11 June 2014

In June ENVIA purchased new survey equipment. This time we have expanded our resources with G-882 gradient magnetometer (http://www.geometrics.com/geometrics-products/geometrics-magnetometers/g-882-marine-magnetometer/) produced by Geometrics (http://www.geometrics.com/) (USA).

This device can be used for example during pre-investment research of sea bottom in order to detect metal objects (anchors, chains, wreck’s parts, etc.) covered under sediments layers.
System consists of two cesium-vapor magnetometers. Geometrics G-882 is designed for operation from small vessels for shallow water surveys as well as for large survey vessels for deep tow applications. Its relatively small size and weight allow to operate it even by one person what greatly facilitates surveys and lowers their costs.
Purchased set is provided with altimeter, telemetry system and MagLog Lite™ software to log, display and print GPS positioned measurement results.
In addition to the Geometrics G-882 system described above, ENVIA offers a number of other devices for bathymetric and geophysical surveys, such as:

  • USBL Scout Plus positioning system produced by Sonardyne International;
  • 620-6829 transponders produced by Sonardyne International;
  • EdgeTech 4125P side-scan sonar;
  • Seabat 7125 SV2 multibeam echosounder produced by Teledyne Reson;
  • CODA DA4G500 sonar data acquisition system produced by CodaOctopus.
